The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for the strategy, planning, and performance of all aspects of planning, operations, packaging, personnel within the Manufacturing Department to ensure that cost, compliance – FDA, HPRA, EPA, Safety, and customer requirements are met. The role will also provide support to the Production Manager in achieving the overall business goals and objectives for the site. Responsibilites: Develop the Manufacturing Department to a level where all members are working towards common goals as set out by the Production Manager. Lead and motivate the employees through effective communication and by providing direction to Senior Technicians and support personnel. Hold 1-1 performance meetings according to company policy. Systems in place to coach and develop Senior Technicians to support the Company’s succession planning. Encourage and reward improvement ideas and results via formal and informal mechanisms. To agree with the Production Manager and to develop and deliver a business plan providing appropriate timely information as required. Manage New Product Introduction and implementation programmes. Establish appropriate KPI’s and manage non-conforming KPI’s. Develop and follow their Leader’s Standard Work, and ensure senior techs do the same. Representing the company at client and regulatory facing meetings and audits. Ensure all activities of the Manufacturing Department are performed in accordance with compliance requirements, GMP, APEX standards and relevant SOPs and policies through Process Confirmation where appropriate. Provide leadership at the tiered APEX meetings to ensure focus and traction is maintained on the key objectives. Organize and lead, as appropriate, cross-functional and departmental plans and programmes to improve the overall efficiencies and effectiveness of the manufacturing department. Lead organizational RCPS and support technical and other RCPS sessions, this includes ownership of all operational Root Cause Problem Solving. Support and ensure QMS is maintained to a high standard. Administer LMS/CORAL. Purchase Requisition challenge and approval. Develop and implement strategy for capacity and ensure schedules adherence. Attend all meetings as required or arrange an appropriate deputy e.g. Department Meetings, ANDON Board, APEX, Financial, EHS and QA. Education and Experience/Knowledge: Proven track record in managing people and in business management. Proven track record in Pharma/Medical Devices/Food Operations Supervision. Degree in a pharmaceutical science/ engineering discipline. Clear understanding of working within a regulated environment. Excellent conflict handling skills.
