Senior Mechanical Estimator. We have a great career opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Estimator based in Co.Mayo. The Senior Mechanical Engineer would be reporting to the Senior Contracts Manager. The role will be based in the Head office in Co.Mayo. Key Responsibilities. Tendering Projects & Monitor ongoing tenders and success rate in order to identify what the market rates acceptance is to prove successful. Core Tasks. Take full ownership of the estimation department, Review newly received projects daily in order to assess their suitability towards the company’s best interest and pipeline; decide on projects to be tendered/returned. Ensure careful assessment is always carried out of all tenders to ensure that value engineering can be identified in order to achieve successful tender outcomes. Advise PQQ Administrator on projects to be pre-qualified. Circulate weekly WIP list to CMs and MD for review and comment. Take offs of tenders and input onto estimation. Evaluate quotations and enter on estimation. Deal with consultants & contractors during the tender process. Provide back-up assistance to the lead negotiator. The lead negotiator will then be responsible for securing the project. Handover to project management and Advise Line Manager when extra resources are required with deadlines for same. Allocate projects within Department, Review all projects priced before submission. Finalise rates and prelims on all projects. This can be done verbally with MD/CMs. Submit a daily/weekly summary of all tenders priced highlighting tender price, labour hours and rate, mark-up. Attend monthly review meetings, Point of contact to be agreed to co-ordinate site visits that are required as part of the tendering process, Estimation Procedure to be reviewed and agreed. Procedure to be agreed for the compilation of project methodologies, programmes, etc. that are required during the tendering process.
